Shimabara Hibariyama Flower Park “Autumn Cherry Blossom Festival”

Notice of the end of the “Autumn Cherry Blossom Festival

Thank you very much for enjoying Shimabara Hihariyama Flower Park. This year’s Autumn Cherry Blossom Festival was affected by the lack of summer rainfall and the extremely hot summer, and weeds and insect infestation made it difficult to showcase the wonderful flower garden as in previous years. We apologize for the inconvenience to those who had been looking forward to the Autumn Cherry Blossom Festival.

This year’s Autumn Cherry Blossom Festival will end on November 5 (Sun.) with the Autumn Cherry Blossom Cutting Experience. We would also like to thank everyone who visited the park during the period for their cooperation and understanding. Shimabara Hibariyama Flower Park will continue to strive to be a flower garden loved by everyone. We look forward to welcoming you again next year.

Ryoichi Matsumoto, Chairman of the Board

The combination of cosmos and sunflowers is a magnificent sight.

Shimabara Hibaruyama Flower Park (formerly Shimabara Shiba-zakura Park), from where you can get a panoramic view of Heisei Shinzan, the highest peak of Mt. Unzen, stands as a symbol of recovery from the Unzen-Fugendake eruption disaster. This park was developed collaboratively by the public and private sectors on designated erosion control land in Kami-Oribashi Town, Shimabara City, out of gratitude for the support from people all over the country and with the hope of leaving a lasting legacy for future generations.
Every year from early October to mid-November, the cosmos flowers reach their peak, and the ‘Cosmos Festival’ is held.

Walking through the park, you can enjoy the breathtaking scenery created by the colorful flower fields. The combination of Heisei Shinzan, 10 million cosmos flowers, and 60,000 sunflowers offers an awe-inspiring view.
